The FortiGate-82C is a multi-function security platform that combines essential security functions of firewall, IPSec and SSL VPN, antivirus, antispam, intrusion prevention, and web filtering into a single device. The advanced FortiOS operating system also delivers enterprise-class data loss prevention, SSL inspection, and application control.

The FortiGate-82C provides two additional benefits: WAN optimization for improved network performance, and storing of system logs and audit files for policy compliance. WAN optimization increases network performance by reducing the amount of data transmitted across a WAN. It lowers resource and bandwidth requirements, thereby reducing networking costs. The FortiGate-82Cýs expandable storage eliminates the need to add storage devices for WAN optimization.

The user-expandable storage includes one terabyte of disk space. Enterprises can use the FortiGate-82C as the foundation for complying with policies requiring the storage of log files or audit records from applications, servers, and devices. This integrated, comprehensive approach to data security and storage significantly reduces the cost of deploying multiple technologies separately.
